My work focuses on capturing the impermanent beauty of nature. I take a considered approach to the way in which the light can bring drama and decadence to something as simple as a flower. My process is a structured chaos, that allows for improvisation. In one sense, each piece starts out composed, but as time moves the process adapts to the changing state of the flowers and plants. I work between this dichotomy because of the technical aspects required of working digitally in contrast with organic materials that are in a state of constant of decay. It allows for the unexpected to happen, you can’t dictate what nature is going to do.
